Typical Michigan Monday 11:30a.m.
I went downtown...small town on the main drag looking for a nice cup-o-joe, since Mr. Coffee isn't with it lately. I went to the Bearclaw coffee and went in. There was nobody inside. I was followed by a young woman and two children who wanted some ice cream. After waiting a couple minutes with nobody apparently there we left. I then saw an old gent walk in. He came out shaking his head.
"What's the matter", I asked.
"They're closed on Mondays".
"You mean the art gallery, Yeah they're always closed on Mondays."
"No," he retorted, "The coffee shop."
"Huh?" I went and looked at the sign on the door. In the 10 minutes I was there 5 customers had left unhappily, and yet; the door was open.
I walked down the block the woman boutique was closed, the bridal salon, the italian bakery, even the cafe down the road all closed. Everyone needs a day off, but such small businesses should be open the maximum and rotate the coffee jerks.
